DaveLamp 10-19-2012 16:09:08 69.54.29.239 Report to Moderator	I have a question or two about the draw bar on my '48 Super A. 1) What's the purpose of the swinging bar? I mean I know that's where the ball goes but why does it swing left and right? 2) There is a series of holes in the rear mount bar. Is there a couple of pins or something I would use in conjunction with the holes to hold the actual draw bar in one place? If not that, then what are they used for? 3) There is a single hole in the top of the draw bar about 4 or 5 inches from the ball hole. What is this hole for? It lets you adjust the hitch point left or right if you want to pull something off to one side - but it's not supposed to be left "swinging". You want to pick a location and bolt it down. And the ball hitch itself isn't really supposed to be there - should be a hole for a pin. (Unless of course you're pulling a trailer with a hitch obiovusly) [Reply]  [No Email]

I drove an H pulling trailing implements without hydraulics from 1950-1958 and the swinging part was never locked down. Anyone who says that does not help turning has either not used trailing implements or has very light ones--we never needed to lock it. I also did that on JD 3020's, 4020's etc. There is no question that if it is left in the ground when turning, that it is easier. [Reply]  [No Email]

CNKS 10-19-2012 17:59:30 216.144.104.128 Report to Moderator	Re: Super A hitch ? in reply to DaveLamp, 10-19-2012 17:19:45   I was parially wrong as my SA does not have the swinging part-- the drawbar does ride on top. there is a piece that bolts into the front hole, drops down at a 90 degree angle then another 90 degree angle to the rear. You can look at wengers dot com, enter parts, Farmall, Super A, you will see drawbar listed, click on that and you will see the swinging drawbar, you should be able to make the part you need. DeltaRed 10-19-2012 17:50:43 67.6.219.50 Report to Moderator	Re: Super A hitch ? in reply to DaveLamp, 10-19-2012 17:19:45   Dave,Use a piece of 1/2" by 2" strap iron approx 5" long.Drill two 1/2" holes to match up with the holes in the hoop drawbar.Install two 1/2" bolts to clamp every thing together.Pretty easy and simple.Use lock nuts(or 'double nut') to keep everything tight.Steve [Reply]  [No Email]

The swinging drawbar is supposed to be under the main drawbar, you are missing the part that goes in the front hole that holds the drawbar up. A couple of bolts in whatever position you want it will stop the swinging. [Reply]  [No Email]
