Farmall 300 Carb. Question

While my pistons are soaking with ATF/Acetone I thought I would clean the carb. and see if it needed a rebuild kit. Well for the first time in my life I made a mistake and over tightened the packing nut on the main jet, crubmling the packing material. What material is the packing made of (looks like lead, only softer) and is it still available?
Thanks
Nate
PS I don't pretend to know the correct terms for the parts but I got them off the Case IH parts list.

It is made of graphite impregnated cotton string. It is called a "packing" or "packing gland" Case-IH still has it. Yes, those things ARE fragile.
