Someone told me that a Farmall A has a 5 quart gear lube capacity for the transmission/differential. That's not much, is he correct? Also, I could use the make and number for the recommended spark plugs, standard and also one stage hotter. Thanks, MB. |

| The A has a 5 quart gear lube capacity. If you have a PTO on it, add one more. So that would be 6 total quarts. If you put 5 quarts in when you have a PTO, you will be short. |

| | About 5 quarts is right. Fill to the small plug on the left-hand side of the transmission, towards the front behind the left side brake rod. Autolite 3116 plugs if it has a magneto Autolite 386 plugs if it has a distributor ignition Autolite 387 plugs would be a step hotter |

| | Thanks ..... so if it has a magneto ignition (which mine has), stay with the 3116's or use the 387's if I want a hotter plug? Just out of curiosity, what't eh difference between the 3116's and the 386's? |

| My understanding is that the 386 is a resistor plug, the 3116 is not. |
