The fly weights on my governor are worn out. I have another governor and am trying to make a good one out of the two. I have both apart except for the bearing that the fly weight shaft fits in. It seems to be a press fit. I would like to put the good shaft back in but it is real tight and won't go back in. I am afraid to wack on the shaft too hard and damage the bearing. Tried putting the shaft in the freezer and the housing in the oven but that didn't help. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
