So I got the pulley drive off my '52 H today in order to take it apart and see what seal I need to replace to end a leak. I'm pretty sure about my next step, but I thought I would run it by you guys first. I can see the retaining ring holding in the bearings (see picture below). I assume I remove that and then remove the bearing somehow to get to the seal. Anyone have some experience you could share?

| I had to do that on the 1951 H back in 1999. If I recall correctly I simply stuck the gear and bearing above the vice jaws then tapped out the shaft. |

| The trick is to use a press. First press off the gear and the bearing right behind it, then you can slide off the spacer, and finally press off the last bearing. |

| Nebraska Kirk, Good point. I started to realize that as I was looking at the parts catalog. Do you know if the bearing has much press in the end by the pulley? Any tricks to getting that apart?
Thanks! |

| You need to remove the gear so you can then remove both bearings and the end piece that contains the seal, only then can you remove and replace the seal. |
