Can't find it on CaseIH parts look up. Anyone know if they still carry parts for it? Need a new ram for the bucket cylender. PO broke it and did a bad weld. Keeps eating seals up. My other option is to put a different cylender set up on it.

THanks

I just had the bucket cylinder fixed on my 2001 loader. I had purchased the seals & O-rings about 15 years ago and had them on hand. At that time a kit was not available but they could be purchased individually from IH. The shaft on mine was also damaged and needed to be replaced. I took my seals to a good hydraulic shop and they were able to supply a new shaft for the cylinder. The shaft dimensions are fairly common so they are not hard to find. The only problem was that the yoke also go replaced since the shaft had a different thread. The original yoke pin is not long enough fo rthe new yoke. The original pin was made from a very hard steel and the new one is just a mild steel so I hope it doesn"t wear too much. After all parts & labour it was expensive, almost $400. I can provide the IH part numbers for the seals if you want to get them. I think a good hydraulice shop could also supply them.

If I did it again, I would take the cylinder to a hydraulic shop that does machine shop work and ask them to make a shaft with the correct thread so the original yoke and pin could be used. I am fussy, I like things to be done as original as possible.

Thanks. I'm not too concerned about it being original......I'm concerned with my 2001 Exxon Valdez. Hytran ain't cheap. I just use it for moving and feeding hay so I may just check on the price of a couple of cylenders and mod it.

I have a new hydraulic shop about 8 miles from me. THe end of the ram that attaches to the bucket was broken off and welded on so I'm not sure anything can be done with it.

Even if an OEM cylinder were still available, the cost would be more than the entire loader is worth.

Frankly I would look for something "close enough" at places like surpluscenter DOT com. Measure the closed length of the cylinder, and the open. Center of pin to center of pin in both cases.

If you can find something that's close, if not exact, you won't have to make any modifications at all.

Or, is it one of those trunnion type cylinders?
