i buying a 240 international tractor the seller says the hydraulic hoses get real hot any buddy have and idea what could be causeing this problem?

Depending on which hose it is and all could well be a valve that is not going into a center/neutral position like it should so it has pressure on it at all times and that would cause that

Try working the lever back and forth a good bit. Also if it is set up to run a double acting cylinder and is hooked to a single it can cause that. I can not say for sure on a 240 but I know the 340 I have here has settings to work either a single of double but you have the have them set for which ever you are using and if not then you can get some odd problems like a hot hose

Getting hot because system is staying on demand. This can happen for various reason. Number one, make sure single to double setting on valves does not have broken or bent roll pin stop. If it has teledepth hitch, may be at end of travel, lingage bent or busted, out of adjustment or bad valve. Orfice screen in regulator valve may be plugged. At any rate, it will ruin a pump if run that way along with a jillion o-rings through out the system.
