Farmall M paint question

in 1946 what colour did the grill screen get painted at the factory? I though it would have been red, but a painter at the shop where i get my sand blasting done says it was black. Is he correct? Thanks Kent

No, he's wrong. It was red.

I have 1947 farmall b thats been in family from day one. Dad repainted it in about 1959 and before repainting it everything was red except gen. starter and wheels.We bought a 51 M in 63 that had not been repainted and it was the same as the b.
