Worked a 16 hr shift last night, slept for 4 hrs then worked another 8. Came home and thought it would be a good idea to work on my tractor. Man am I dumb. I was way too tired. I bought a new 6 volt battery to put in it and it wouldn"t start after wards. Looked and was out of gas. Put 5 gal in and still wouldn"t start. Began chasing fuel lines looking for a problem. Tried it again and it started but died right quick. Then I started looking at all I had done and about messed my pants when I saw that I had hooked the battery up backwards. Neg ground! Uuuugh. I unhooked it and turned it around and put the charger on it and it seems to be taking a charge. I have not tried to start the tractor. Have I screwed anything up? I am so dang mad at myself. To top it off I turned the drain plug on the bottom of the carb the wrong way to loosen it and now it wont tighten up. It is not leaking but it is just finger tight. I get so angry when I do stuff like that. When I have a little time I try and get too much stuff done and make mistakes. Maybe someday I will learn to be more patient. |

| I think we have all been impatient. I'm 21 and really need to work on my patients. I have to say when working on this old stuff sometimes I just walk away for half hour come back then it all goes together. I have BTDT many times... too many |

| As to the battery the only way you could have hurt anything is if you have an alternator. Voltage regulator, maybe after a long period of time, not just a few minutes. In your haste you probably flooded it. Will probably start immediately tomorrow. |
