Factory No TA or TA delete

Okay I have been wondering about something for a while now. This site seems to have a LOT of Farmall tractors that are advertised as Factory No TA or TA delete. I know this was a factory option but honestly in my part of the country I have never run across a Farmall with that option or known anyone who ordered one that way. I know there are some out there but it really seems that way too many of them show up on this sight. Are guys taking the TA levers off of tractors with bad TA"a and trying to pass them off on unsuspecting people as Factory No TA tractors? I realize that you can tell the difference by looking but to a someone who doesn"t know too much about tractors it might look legit. Are there any production numbers that seperate out tractors that had this option?

I have a farmall 300 listed on this sight, and I bought this tractor from the second owner who I know very well who bought this from the original owner, and It was ordered without a TA, they are nice because people who dont know how to use TA"a cant screw them up

I think that it is somewhat regional. I heard something about there being fewer ordered in the South, or maybe that was some other option of which I am thinking.

I have two 300Us out here, one with the TA and one without, there is no doubt that the TA delete is factory. There is just too much for 99% to take off to make it look like a delete.

I have a 1960 560 that has no TA from IH it has no lever and ta clutch throw out shaft and has dust plugs in shaft holes and look for letter P which stands for 540 pto only.Scott

Check serial # if it was factory delete it will have the proper suffix.( however make sure serial tag is original Its to easy to replace tag with new proper I.D.) Buyer be ware.
I would bet that majority that show up fact.delete are T/A's that went out and owner bought the tru put shaft and in frustration got rid of all t/a components and called it delete. I's very easy to do and very economical vs new t/a job.
I have never seen one advertised or an owner admit that t/a was removed. It's always that "rare factory delete."
Call me senical but I've replaced several t/a's on so called fact. delete and I know that was bogus. They were painted with fairly new tags

I have heard the same thing on here.It was a "Southern States" thing to NOT have a T/A. May be some one on here can give MORE details about this????

I have read that TA delete was a popular option in the South because of the poor quality "tractor drivers" that are available for hire. Either due to language barriers or because they just plain don't care, these "tractor drivers" are/were hard on TAs.

If these guys can't deal with a simple TA, I wonder how tractors with full powershift hold up.

Last year I bought and rebuilt an 856 with the TA eliminator kit installed, it had run for many years on a ranch as a FEL tractor only, so a TA was of little use to them.
Actually for light use like a FEL tractor where 8 gears are plenty, the TA actually makes shifting harder, especially in cold weather where cold oil in the TA causes extra drag on the transmission and clutch which causes harder shifting, so in some cases, it is not missed.

Most sold in the South and Texas areas where "tractor drivers" rather than owner operators drove the tractors were sold without TA. The idea was keep it simple and less items they can tear up.
