Fast Hitch Plow and 706

My 706 has 3 point, but I believe you can "slide out" the prongs and attach Fast Hitch implements. It's a 1965 model, and weren't they made to do this?? I have access to a Fast Hitch plow and want to know if this will work...Thanks, Cmore

If you can slide the 3 point out of the hitch, the plow will slide right in. Make sure the plow has the larger size 2 point prongs to match your hitch. A little grease will help things slide together much easier.

Ah no it will not just slide in world of difference between a Fast Hitch and a three point .You can use a fast hitch on three point with the proper adapters .

Wayne, the 3 point you are thinking of is from a 1206.All others are different and will NOT accept 2 point 'prongs'.

Cmore,if your tractor has a 'fast hitch' with 3point 'prongs',yes you can use 2 point equipment.Post a pic of your tractor so we can better help you.

Have you actually tried to slide them all the way out?

They won't come all the way out. There's a roll pin, usually buried under layers of paint and grease, that runs in a slot on the "prongs" and prevents them from coming out.

I thought the same way as you, until Dad showed me the cross pin and how the arm wouldn't come all the way out of the pocket.

They slide out to make hooking up to 3pt implements easier. If you're slightly misaligned, or not quite back far enough, you can get a few extra inches without having to jockey the tractor around.
