I have a 1950 Farmall super A. I recently purchased two headlight gaskets and one headlight lense. I can not get the gaskets to fit!!! Just read that this tractor did not have a gasket.
These gaskets are solid ring with different size dia on inside versus the other side. Any info would be appreciated.

I have some of those gaskets too!! They are soooo agrivating and don't fit at all no matter how hard you try. I think they had A&I Industries on the packaging.....does that ring a bell? I ended cutting up the gasket and using a peice of it to "wedge" the lense so it didn't move. I don't know where you'd get gaskets to fit correctly with no modifications.

Yes, those gaskets come from A&I, and they are very good gaskets for use in the aftermarket, imported headlamps, and actually, those imported lights ARE very good lights. Unfortunately, very few of the parts will interchange with the original Delco-Guide headlamps.

The original Delco-Guide lamps use an entirely different style of gasket, and I have them.

The gaskets you bought are made to fit the aftermarket imported rip-offs. They absolutely WILL NOT fit the original tear drop lights.

Could it be that you simply purchased the wrong gaskets, or they sent the wrong gaskets? Where did you get them from?

What do you mean by "they don't fit?"

The gasket I purchased for my rear bullet light off my Super A was not a "solid ring", it was held together with a staple. It fit perfectly. Came from American Tractor Lights DOT com.

This was a six volt tractor when new it looks like maybe lights got changed when the voltage was. Might take them off the tractor and take the lights to a parts store or dealer and see if they can identify them.

We just dont have a clue as to what kind of a headlite you have are they the original bullet type with a reflector and use an 1153 bulb or are they some add on and not factory are they the original Guide teardrop type flat back or what.Original would have been teardrop style and all three should be the same.

They are the teardrop style and are 12 volts if that matters. When I took them apart the gasket material just fell apart. Just want things to work on this tractor, not a show unit.

12v just takes a different bulb. Gaskets are available for around3.50 and up depending on where they are purchased.

Got them from Yesterday's Tractor. Think I will try cutting them to make them fit. Thanks for the info.
