I put in a new 2 piece seal today and it leaked on just a short run. Any tricks to the trade? I will try again next week. thanks gary |

| Thanks for the help, I did not soak it and I did trim it a little. My IT book has nothing about the rear main. it is a 1957 book. thanks Gary |

| Make sure you soak the seal in oil before you push it in the retainer.
Don't be afraid to soak the seal after it is in the retainer.
Don't trim the seal, let the ends push and squish together.
Check the crank for burrs etc.
My MD is leaking after resealing as well. I worked it for a long time and it just gets worse. |

| Before doing anything else, I would put it to work for a while. Sometimes that seal will swell and be just fine. |
