IH 560 Diesel puller

I got a stock 560 diesel tractor, 18.4 x 34 on pressed steel rims, std drawbar and narrow front. Has the hydraulic pumps and PTO in it yet... do you think i can make it in 6000lb class?

Ya might be close I use to have trouble getting my 450D into 6500 but never did any good in that class 7500 and up to 10500 was where she would do her thing but that was back when 856's were new and sometimes clean my clock . A 560 back then could not get close . But i was cheating just ask anybody around here as my one friend and i pulled two 450 D and we were cheating but they did not know how .

I got mine down to 6500 with case 38" wheels. You better check all the classes to see where it will pull best gasers do ok in light classes my 560D didn't do well till 9500 and up and does its best in 10500/12000 and 12500. I have 18.4x38 and it does really well if you weight it right. If you don't that front end will come up to the stars.

I too am going to start pulling a 560 Diesel.I need new tires do yall think it could handle 16.9 X 38 or should I stick with 15.5 X 38? Mine is stock and I want to pull in 7100,7600 and 8100 lb div 1 and I want to use low gear although T/A is good just too slow in 1st.

Well - i got the real statistics. My friend, it turns out, has a full semi scale up at his grain elevator, so i got educated today. My 560 diesel, 18.4 x 34 rears on pressed steel, schwartz wide front, 11L x 15 front tires, 1/3 tank of fuel, has PTO and hydraulics weighed 6400#.

Today i jerked the WF and put a light weight narrow front off of a 460 with the smaller hubs, normal IH front rims and 6.50 x 16 front tires and i cut about 200-250lbs. I would have guessed more, but thats all it was.

Now it weighs about 6100 without me on it - i could jerk the PTO i suppose, but i kinda want this tractor to be able to farm a bit too.

This tractor also has a turbo kit, but, i dont think that weighs much anyhow...

Now i know!!

I have a 560 I pull, cast wheels 16.9-38 a blower, fast hich, single front wheel. No rear wt, front wt bracket for 10wts.I can make 6500lb then add 4 150lb rear wt. and 3 100 suitecass up front for 7500.I run allot of RPM. 2800 with 301 715 combine motor 1st or 2nd ta.

i pulled last night, kinda fell on its face (we need a few more RPMS and better air flow) we pulled 6500 farm stock. didnt get last at least!!
