Bosch Injection Pump Question

Any way to tell the HP rating on a Bosch Model 100 pump by looking at the tag numbers? Have 2 pumps side by side but don"t know how to tell which has the bigger plunger. Thanks.

I always thought HP was determined by the cu in of the engine then how the pump is set as ya cant just put a pump on an engine and then say its got 100hp

It may be that I'm not asking the question correctly, I don't know much about this. I'm pretty sure that there are different plunger sizes in the pumps, which I think equates to different fuel output rates, which I interpret to mean more HP from the same motor (assuming propor air flow to burn fuel and all other variables of course). Totally understand that adding more fuel doesn't do any good if the engine can't burn it all up.

So what I'm trying to determine is which pump has the largest "stock" fuel delivery rate without being turned up. This would be easy if I knew which tractors the pumps came from, but I don't.

I'd rather buy a pump that was set for a 150HP tractor originally, than buy a 100HP pump and have to worry about trying to turn it up without screwing something up. Maybe I'm going about this the wrong way?

They are easy to set up to add more fuel.Give me a number off the pump like 100-6a-100a9274-11 or -13 this is off a 1086.

You can increase the number of hypothetical cubes on most diesels by turning that little screw on the pump. In gas engines yes, cubes = hp. On a diesel, there can be a lot gained by twisting the fuel to 'em. Most times a fair amount can be achieved very safely as well.

Model 100 is a 10mm plunger, model 90 is a 9mm plunger. I believe that is the only size plungers used on IH tractors. 11mm plunger pumps were used on Mack trucks and 11,13,14, and 15mm aftermarket.
