| I used to work there as summer help while in college. Good money for a college punk.lol I worked there in '94 - '96. I worked in the banburys, hot and dirty. I'm not surprised what happened out there as I couldn't believe the unproductive garbage some of the help got away with under union protection. I know I wouldn't have wanted to employ probably 1/3 of the work force I encountered if it was my business.Dan |

| | Who did say they don't make Farm Tires in America? I've bought Titans, Firestones, and American Farmers, and all said Made in USA right on them. Not many newer cars in the parking lot... -Andy |

| | Firestones are MADE in america - but the company is OWNED by bridgestone of Japan. (last I knew anyways) I'm not sure about Titan. As far as I know Cooper is the ONLY american tire company left that makes tires in america. |

| I bought some new Firestone tires for the front of my narrow front Farmall 240 from the local Firestone dealer and moulded into the tire is Made in Argentina along with the typical Firestone logo. I believe the tires are 5.00 X 15 in size in the tri-rib design, Hal. |

I'm not so sure all of them are. I was talking to a tire/parts jockey and he says his small (13.6-38 type) Firestone tires are made in Vietnam. He said they come with a sticker that says Made in Vietnam overtop of the molded in Made in USA. He said a guy didn't believe him one time so they walked out to the shed and uncrated and unwrapped a brand new tire. The customer was a believer after that. |

| I live six or eight miles north of that tire plant, it used to be Kelly Springfield and was one of the best paying jobs around here and the parking lot was full. Then it got sold to I think somebody from Iowa and it's just kinda hanging on now like the rest of Freeport. |
