I dont get any throttle response for the first 5 notch on my super c. How do you adjust the spring inside the governor to get a little more tension out of it to take up the slop in it. I own the book that will tell me but its 80 miles away at my friends house right now.

I just had one of those apart. There is no "adjustment" in there.

Your spring may be stretched, or the holes badly worn.

Have you adjusted the linage from the governor rockshaft to the carburetor?

That may or may not be the problem but to set the linkage. With engine off remove pin from the clevis going to the carb. Now open the throttle all the way then adjust the clevis so the pin goes in holding the carb open. Mite have trouble adjusting the clevis with rust and old paint. Also if the input lever wobbles around it needs to be re-bushed with a 1/2x5/8 bushing. Also check the springs on both sides of the bracket going to the input shaft the rod needs to be free and sometimes paint and rust will get them bound up. If the bumperspring on the bottom of the gov housing is adjusted too high it will affect the idle speed.
