I have a chance to buy a 1940 M for $200, engine is stuck,tires are junk. The rear rims are good,it has wheel weights. The only thing missing is the carburetor bowl.my question is it has a mechanism sticking out of the front grill where the removable insert goes. It's similar to the one on the F 20. I assume it is for the cultivator. How much of a job is it to remove that part. I own a 43 M and it doesn't have that item. Thanks in advance.

yup its a cultivator bracket.it should un-bolt from the steering post. remove the grille for access.

What and you do not have it on the way home yet?? That is about 1/3 of what scrap price is for it. But get me wrong I am not saying scrap it

You can scrap it for more than that. Grab it if you have the room and the time to fetch it. Cultivator bracket removes easily.
