Red Mercury 07-21-2012 23:36:28 204.112.48.188 Report to Moderator	I am trying to clean & assemble a carburetor for a WD-9. I have three gas start diesel carburetors that I can pick from which is a good thing about dragging old tractors home for all these years. When I was examining the carburetors to figure which is the best one to use, I noticed that two of the carburetors do not have an air valve and spacer (the round disk on top of the carburetor body). There is a screw installed in the threaded hole for the spacer so it looks like someone either removed the air valve and put a screw in the threaded hole or there never was an air valve. Has anyone ever seen a gas start diesel carburetor without the air valve disk? Would the tractor have ran with out it? [Reply]   [No Email]

It acts as the throttle butterfly in a regular carburator. Just is set to run at a fixed speed. Can make it run faster by adding a small shim under the plate. [Reply]  [No Email]
