I know on M heads they come with a oil distribution tube but when I pulled the valve cover off there was no tube but there was a threaded hole. The hole is on the left of the head next to the first spring....does a 450 head have this oil distribution tube and if not is there something else missing from the head, i know they dont put threaded holes in heads for fun....thanks for the help, ~anthony (Farmall M with a 450 head, step pistons)

They put threaded drain holes in Super brake housings for no reason. Then they put a warning in there that says to not put a bolt in the hole...

The 450 did not use the vent tube going from front to rear of head. It used a short tube in the rear hole and that was connected to the air cleaner inlet same as M's were. The governor still had vent tube to front of head but no fittings inside head. Poor man's pvc system that actually caused all the build up in the inlet tube of air cleaner and they kept using similar systems on the 6 cyl engines until they just said, put a plug in valve cover on those engines and pinch the tube going into air cleaner. I eliminated a lot of them over the years on the six cyl but just left factory type on the older four bangers.
