Thanks Pete23 for your suggestion on removing third link plate on 656 to locate pick up tube for hydraulic pump on hydro. Done that today to find that the tube is all chewed up, broke loose from whatever mechanism is supposed to hold it in place and smashed the end of the tube shut. Also had the portion that is connected to rubber hose between tube sections torn. Took the part and headed for the local IH dealer to be informed that the part is no longer available. He suggested I manufacture something to take the damaged parts' place. He also gave me the parts diagram with accompanying numbers to determine what the original was supposed to look like! Do you or anyone else on the forum have suggestion as to what to do next. Can a rubber hose with a single braid take place of the steel portion that is damaged. Obviously something below the oil level of the tractor reservoir/rearend was supposed to hold the metal tube in place. Thanks
