Idle after 12v conversion

I converted my 46 farmall H to 12 volt thanks to help from this forum.
Strangely enough now that the conversion is working I noticed its idling rough. Is this common after a 12 volt conversion? Is the change in the electrical affecting the ignition and is it now requiring an adjustment?
what should I check first? It seems to be running with an uneven sound compared to before the conversion. It doesnT really even out at higher rpms either....

Check and make sure all the plug wires are hooked up as they should be. Or if you installed a ballast resister it could be the wrong size and you now have a weak spark. Check your spark and make sure it is a good blue/white and will jump a 1/4 inch gap

One other thing did you switch the wires on the coil so that it is now - ground instead of + ground it can make a tad bit of difference as to how an engine will run

The 12 volt conversion will make no difference to
the engine running smooth or rough. If you worked on
the distributor during the process of conversion you
may have affected the timing which could effect
running.

Distributor or magneto?

If magneto, the 12V conversion has NOTHING to do with the engine running.

If if is a distributor, the negative (-) terminal on the coil should go
to the points. You will also need a coil with internal resistor or
ballast resistor between the positive (+) terminal and the ignition
switch.

A magneto will not care.
