Farmall B on sale bill

Other than it looks like a Heinz 57 of parts from a couple differant tractors, looks to be a front end from an A, a seat from an early H or M and a battery out of a lawn mower....

It's listed as a B with a wide front end, not the 1st one done that way. Sort of makes me wonder why the lawn mower battery--the guy is selling a bunch of stuff, seems he could afford a decent battery. The Stage 2 Super H looks ok, I would pull the weight bracket off, must have been a puller.

Bottom is what do you want to do with it. The front is from an A and the seat is aftermarket so with the small battery is probably doesent have a charging system and no lites. The front tread is not the same as the rear and when you do set the front so it has the same width as the rear it will not steer very good as one wheel will not turn the same as the other. Would cost some serious money to make original

I thought that at first, but then you can see a 4/6 way blade behind it. It may have just been there to offset heavy 3 pt equipment.

If you can get to the unit, check the motor number on the engine stamped on a flat just above the distributor and behind the governor on the right front of the engine. It should read FA ***** or FB ***** with the * being numbers. I would almost bet the front is an A and the serial number will be the FA type. All one would have to do to convert the A to a wide format is to add a left long rear axel from a B and extend the front axel on the A. Also look at the center cast of the wheel on the right rear side. If it is heaver than the left it is from an A.

All this to say that the decals may say B but you may be looking at an A. If you wish to restore it to an A setup it will not be too hard, but don't give more than $400 for it as it is, that is if it is running. If not running give no more than scrap price.

Chassis serial prefix for A/B is FAA/FAB. Engine serial prefix is FAAM/FABM. The sale bill says it is a B with the wide front off an A.
