Qusetion on this tractor I know it is way newer than we deal with on this site but thought I would ask had a bad day yesterday the motor in my 7140 lost a cylinder, I bought it used a year ago has run great, but now to get parts I need to find out the serial # of the motor the tag is gone, tractor serial # is JJA 0037410 any help would be great, Thanks Kevin.

Hmmmm I thought all 7140's had the same engine???

I am going to take a stab at this. If I remember correctly, they changed the block and made the sleeve flange a different outside diameter. So, if you have someone measure that flange you can determine if you have early or later block. Service manuals would have this information, don't know if parts book would specify that though. Several changes were made to those engines, some you just incorporate with using latest parts and other changes would require different block.
