Operating 806 Hydraulics on Woodsplitter

Really silly question that I must be overthinking, but before I operate my 3 point Speeco woodsplitter, how does one operate the hydraulics on the tractor? Do you bungee the pressure port open and work the control on the splitter to operate the ram? Also how does one determine the correct hose for pressure port and return port? I know this is a dense question.

First off, you need a open center valve on your wood splitter. In other words, with valve centered in neutral, the flow should go right through valve. You can easily determine which coupler is pressure on tractor by just pulling lever and see which coupler is pressurized. Then hook the hose to that coupler and the in port on your splitter valve, with out port to other coupler on tractor. Tie lever back.
