756 D Tach drive

Only easy fix I can think of is if the drive end
is worn off. It drives from a slot in the center
of the cam shaft gear and you turn the adaptor
housing in as far as it will go gently, then back
it out to align with the tach cable. If that end
is worn off you could probably build it up or
maybe just try readjusting the depth it is screwed
in. Other wise, reduction gears stripped out.
Usually, the problem is that the gear actually
turns but it won't turn the cable as the end of
cable is worn out and the square drive inside stem
is also worn. I have pinched a few together over
the years, not necessarily on that model.

Thanks, I'll dig into it a little deeper. Hopefully if it's the end that goes into the camshaft, I can do as you say and build it up some.
