Follow Up on Magneto Help

Thanks to all for your help. This is a 1941 Farmall A that had been sitting for 5 years. The magneto worked fine. I replaced the points and it cranked right up. There is a leak at the front oil seal I"ll have to replace. From the archives it looks like a routine job after I get the pulley off. Any good advice from you experts? Thanks in advance.

You have to pull the radiator then the whole steering sector then you can remove the pulley with a puller then you can take the cover off and replace the seal. You will need to have some method of supporting the engine on back when the front is removed. Lots of work just to replace a seal. When you have it torn down check the crankshaft for wear where the seal goes as you mite need to add a speedy sleve so the new seal will hold.
