Woods L306 belly mower on Farmall A

I have been looking for a belly mower for my Farmall A, and saw a Woods 6ft L306 on craigslist. The guy said he was using it with a Farmall H, I've heard of the woods mowers being used on A's, but the A has a different PTO position than an H. I was curious if anyone knew if this mower would mount ok and work on an A?

Thanks.

The mower could fit eather tractor. It is the mounting brackets that will tell witch tractor it will fit. I think you would be happer if you cold find a L59 mower it is only 5" wide.

The deck will work fine but you will need the mount for the A and the drive pulley. I am located in Iowa if you wasnt the mount.

The Woods L59 will be all your A should handle. I would avoid the L306 unless I had a bigger tractor with hydraulic lift.

I have a L306 on a Farmall 140 with a hydraulic lift. You just need to obtain the necessary parts to use the L306 on your Farmall A which will be different then those used on a H. The parts are readily available from Woods but are somewhat costly. The Woods decks can be fitted to almost any tractor with the correct parts. My combination of the 140 and L306 works fine as it is used to mow my extended yard which is also one of my hayfields but the 140 will have a few more horses then the A. Hope this helps, Hal.

The A will handle the 306 as it is a finish mower and not a bush hog type big important fact is have the mower adjusted correct and of course sharp blades.

You're A will handle it fine in a yard setting. I think you would be better off finding a mower that came off an A though, as the parts for hooking up your deck to the tractor are expensive. Otherwise the L306 is a good unit.

(quoted from post at 07:37:42 03/22/12) I am located in Iowa if you want the mount.

What would you charge for the mount? What part of Iowa are you in? It doesn't come with a hand lever to raise and lower it, since the A doesn't have hydraulics, does it?

I am planning to use it in a yard setting, as a finish mower, not a bush hog.

I tried to Private Message you, but when I clicked the "PM" button it said that feature is under construction. Maybe Ill get you my email address somehow if we decide to go forward with this. Thanks!
