i am replacing the range lever control collars, and i am also replacing the hollow shaft that they ride on, i noticed a hole in that hollow shaft is there a roll pin in there i need to drive out to pull the hollow shaft off or how do i get that hollow shaft off of the steering console?

I see you have not received any answers yet. That is one thing I never have had out . It sounds like you have a new piece already and it has a hole in it for possibly a roll pin. I looked in parts book but don't see a pin listed for it unless they are mixed up and listing that other pin right above it for the wrong part. Doubt that though. This is one of those deals that if it is held in with a pin it is really unhandy to pull it out with out taking the pin out and when you can't find it, well. No help here. Anyway, good luck.
