Another Try - Wrong Headbolt Torque

Sorry for the confusion I caused in the previous post "Wrong Headbolt Torque" - I was referring to messing up the head gasket, not the stud. As a summary, I torqued all the studs to 125, then one to about 145, and backed it off to 135, and did all to 135. Did I hurt the head gasket under that one bolt?

Again, sorry.

Your fine. That whole stud spinning thing got nuts in the last thread. I didn't follow you.

You will have to get it warm and retorque it anyhow. Most of mine took a good 1/2 turn. That one would probably only take a 1/3 turn.

Exactly Whoo that feels better. Spun nuts no good. A policy of mine is never back off of a torqued fastner to a permanent lesser torque on a gasket. I think you are Ok in this case. Jim
