1206 top link

I bought a 1206 last year that came with a category 3 top link that has a hook and ball on the top end and a swivel on the other end. The guy selling the tractor says that is unique only to the 1206. I need to restore this top link but the mechanism that holds the ball in is missing. Does anyone have a picture of one so that I can reconstruct this mechanism?

The early tractors had a 3 point hitch that was different, lower links were ball/prong type that made a 2 point hitch with prongs removed, upper link was different than all of IH later models such 1066/1256/1456/1466 with Cat III hitch. If you want to restore it to original be warned hard to find & pricey. If you are just going to use tractor get a Cat III off later 1206 or newer 56/66. 86/88 will work but handle is different.

You can go to case ih parts & service catlog on the net.When it comes up hit US then next screen at top hit parts next screen torwords the bottom in red hit search for parts,next screen hit model 1206 that will bring up all parts for the tractor.Parts needed are 394692r1,394693r1 and 2063a.Teir is a diagram of parts.I know what you need because I have that type of top link.

We have a '66 1206 & it has that style top link. As previously posted, the 3 pt on the 1206s are different then the later 3 pts. You can remove the lower prongs & it will look like a fasthitch but you can't use fast hitch implements with it. BTDT.
