H vs Super H

(quoted from post at 14:58:46 02/20/12) Is a stage 1, 53 Super H typically worth more than a standard H?---for example a 51 H in the same condition.

If both tractors were in excellent, ready for the field condition, then yes, the Super H might be worth $200 to $300 more.

depends on if someone actually wants to use the tractor for work. the only practical advantage in my opinion is live hydraulics. but in a backyard, driveway or a parade, it makes no difference. Rarity to a collector might have some impact on price. My opinion is Its worth what someone will pay for it.

Stage I SH does not have live hydraulics. I would guess in the same condition would be within $100 to $150 of same value.

Harold H

They made a lot more regular Hs than SHs. The Super has better gearing, disc brakes, and more power. All these make it more valuable to some...not all. Around here , the Supers go higher. In the same overall condition, I would say 500.00 or more higher than standard H. Thats my observation,in my area, which is Minnesota. Stage ones do not have live hydralic.

Yep, in identical average restored condition the Super H would be worth about 400 more....Why? Mainly because of more horsepower, better speeds in the gearing, came with a better seat, and a better drawbar. Truth is, a Super H is what the original H should have been in the first place. Plenty of power for it's size and good field speeds, neither of which the regular H had. Same thing with the M family too.
