German Dielsel 756

Okay. We have a 715 combine with a turbo on it that is a German diesel. Completely rebuilt 2 yrs. ago and runs beautifuly. That combine was replaced with a 1660. Now we have a 756 with a German diesel, same size motor, that is VERY tired. Over 30,000 hrs. Would the 715 combine engine go into the 756 tractor without much modification? My dad believes yes but brother is very pessimistic.

I put a combine engine in my 756 a couple years ago. You need to swap the rear plate, oil pan, and oil pump from the tractor engine to combine engine. The combine engine's oil pump is internal and the tractor's is external. You need too swap all related parts. Front cover is fine, no swap needed. Really a very simple swap.

just about to do the same type of swap. bought a German 706 with spun bearing cheap. found a 715 with under 1800 hours. almost a shame to steal the engine. this things in beautiful shape. but the engine purrs and i got a tractor that needs a transplant.
30000 hours. wow. that can"t be the original engine is it? if it is that"s really impressive no matter what engine it is. must have been very well cared for. good luck with engine swap and keep us updated.
