This Farmall H parts tractor for sale on eBay has dual wheels on the rear. Would this have been overkill?

I had a cousin who like to dual up his H...and his 400.....and his 450. And, there used to be broken cast wheel centers all over his place to prove it.....

Why do they need duals for sugar beets. IIRC the single front is because they are in 22" rows???

Thanks. Being from sugar beet country does explain the long rear axles.

Will that truck drive right out the dooryard? I thought it didn't have spark plug wires in one of the pictures???

I drove this one with a "land side dual" on it.I could tell it made a difference plowing! It was pulling 3x14s with a "hopped up" engine on semi- muddy ground !

BTW,I believe the SUPER Hs are like the SUPER Ms L O N G E R rear axles.

I don't think you could possibly fit two hubs on my SM. And if they were cut off the saw marks were sanded off and the edges re-chamfered.

What size tires and rim width are you running scotc??

I have 12" rims and 14.9x38s om MY Super M,I do not think I can get duals on with those? Maybe with 10" rims and smaller tires???

Yes, the Super H axles are 6" longer, I think, something like that. I have a couple of sets but I don't want to widen my H because it gets used a lot in the woods and long axles wouldn't fit between the trees as well. I sold a set of rear hubs recently to someone in Vermont who was putting duals on an H, and he said he had some longer axles to go on it.

Heck for the price, the extra set of wheels, and the single front axle, I would buy it in a heartbeat. Colorado is a tad far for a mid-winter road trip though.

I guess I could fly to South Dakota, pick up the KB-5, the drop down to Colorado, pick up the H, then drive back to PA. Might get home by June!

LOL!!!!!

That H must have the extra long axles. Too bad the seller doesn't know how to spell or proofread. Guess you need to just look at the pictures to figure out what he is selling.

Yes, coming out of that country. That would be a sugar beet tractor. Long axles and single front wheel.

It depends on why it had duals. They would work well for pulling a cultimulcher. It would also be handy to have duals on the landside when plowing.

I guess so but the Horse Power is not there to need that much rubber. If they were trying to float over soft ground that I could see, but otherwise it looks like too much tire.

You try driving over fresh plowed rough ground and you would not think they were overkill, would have been nice to have had them on our Farmall H. You would ride over the holes and not be dropping into them.
