Well, not sure how many on here know what a Greb Puller is, but I found one and bought it. The gentleman I am buying it from gave me a little history. His father was the IHC dealer for years and this is left over from the dealership. I am dancing the Irish jig!

For those of you who don't know what a Greb puller is, it is an incredibly heavy duty puller issued to IHC dealers for pulling the flywheels off Regulars, F-20's, and F-30's. Made by Greb Mfg in Boston Mass.

IHC part number: SE624 dealer tool

Been looking for a few years now, and stumbled onto this while surfing the net this past weekend. My Xmas present to me. Looking forward to visiting with the gentleman to get some stories about his childhood and time spent at the dealership.

I will post pictures when I get it. he also indicated he may have a few more tools from the dealership.............looks like I may go broke.

504, I'll surely let you guys know if there are other things that he has for sale. He is in California and I am in Pa., so our visits are over the phone. He seems to be one heck of a nice guy.

next week, we answer the questions, "does a bear crap in the woods" and "does a tree falling in the woods make a sound if no one is around" and in the bonus round "does the light really go off when you shut the fridge door"..............

Cool. Let us know what you find. The few special
tools I have are well used, been broken and welded.
In fact I pulled the sleeve puller in two a couple
times myself.

Cool.. I have several partial tool sets with all
the pullers, but am still trying to find several of
the original reamers and one or two of the valve
seat tools. I have an original mag test stand, but
am missing the outer bearing race tools. I have
located NOS outer bearing race tools, but still do
not have a price...

The one IH specialty tool I would love to find is
the SE-656 Engine Test Stand.

JJ, I agree. He was telling me he remembers when the first Farmall H was delivered to his Dad's dealership......he was about 6 or 7. He climbed up on and it was a BIIIIIIIIIIIG tractor! Anyway, somehow he managed to bump the starter and start it. He said the commotion that resulted was hilarious. Fortunately, I guess it wasn't in gear. I actually am thinking about recording our conversations if he is willing.

I still may call Gordon Rice and see if he would be willing to spend some time and be interviewed or tell some stories. These are the people who WERE THERE! they lived it, they saw it, and they still remember it. I for one can only listen to those 20 or 30 years my senior, and understand. I am 51 years old, and when I tell stories to my daughters you would think I grew up during the Ice Age!

People our age bridge the gap, and if we don't listen and record what we hear, some of this will be lost to the younger ones that will replace us.

Guy Fay, if you are reading this, and would like to get hooked up with Gordon or this gentleman, please let me know. My email is open.
