SMTAD Leaking Injector pump

My SMTAD leaks right where the throttle shaft goes into the pump, not a steady stream but pretty good drip. Is there any way of fixing that, without taking off the whole pump. It has a washer that I cant get off the shaft unless I tear into it. any suggestions? Thanks

I would start by checking the parts diagram. Sorry I can't be of more help...thats on my list of things I haven't done to a gas start...yet...

Brad answered what it takes to remove the shaft.
Thats not the only problem you have with the pump if diesel is filling the oil cavity and leaking out the shaft seal. Internal fuel leak from the primary and scavaging pump or other places.

Had a 450D doing the same thing. Put a different transfer pump on it (one bolted to the injecter pump) and it stopped.
Just my 2 cents....

I have the same problem.

If the injection pump is removed, is there a back panel or something to access the shaft seal? Will "springs fly out" if access is done wrong?

Just two bolts hold primary pump in place and the coupler slides apart. No surprises. You will find the seal is on the shaft sticking out of the primary pump. Seal is one of two types based on year. Early version parts are NLA and creativity is involved.
