First delivery of 806's

Blytheville, AR. Not sure of the month but was 1964.
Note: One tractor has white fenders, Scout 80 on the
left. My father(MGR. & part-owner)said the Case
tractors behind the 806"s were trade ins.

The 806 was also available with white fenders(sometimes done by the dealer), looking at the picture it is obvious they are not 1206's.

If you ever watch the movie "In the Heat of the Night" you will see a 806 in the shop of the IH dealer/Mayor, it also has white fenders.

White fenders were not factory. A neighbor here had a 706 he bought new that had white fenders, the fenders were installed before it left the dealer"s lot. The fenders were from a new 1206 that had a cab added before delivery. Many such new sets of fenders were sold that came off of tractors that had cabs added back in those days.

When I posted the picture I didn"t realize my comments were going to cause the "correct police" to come out.

I will go back to my father(who worked for Harvester Company from 1959-79, was the 1st XL dealer in Mississippi, 3rd in the Memphis Territory) that he is WRONG!

Good Grief, just trying to post a neat picture of a dealership in the 60"s.

Back in 1964 My dad took me and my brother to a IH dealer only introduction and demonstration. This was by Dassel MN. On site were the 806 and the 706 modles. All 806s were pulling 6 bottom plows and the 706s were pulling 5 bottom plows.
That day left a lasting impression on me. I wish we had pictures of it.
Thanks

First 806 showed up here in my area for the Canfield Fair in 1963 And the fair was held five days and ended on Labor day. The man i worked for Bought the first one and the next week end my uncle bought the second one sold . And i can not remember just how many i have bought and sold since 1983 . There was also a 706 Diesel at the fair Both were wide ft. with clam shell fenders and the 806 had flat tops .

Cool picture! My Dad had an International Scout that he used as a delivery vehicle for his pharmacy. That one looks to be pre-1963. I think previous to "63 the windows were sliders. In 63 they went to a roll-up style. I think I can see the angle of the slider in the picture.
Great memories!
Thanks!

I wonder where the white fenders came from in 1964.

They could NOT have come from a 1206, because there was no such thing as a 1206 in 1964.

The 806 at the front of the line appears to have 18.4 38 tires. Those did not come out until the 1206 era which would have been 1965. It is my opinion this photo is newer than 64 and that the white fenders are as "raised on IH said", 1206 take offs or else are dealer painted.

38's were available upon request from Farmall Works or could have been put on for the customer. If you notice the tractor behind the light pole has no fenders, some have R1 tires some have R2 tires, goes to show you the different ways to option your tractor.
