1066 TA woes

Occasionally when shifting the TA forward into direct drive the tractor does not immediately speed up. It does not slow down either but it acts like something is slipping. I have not noticed any issues when pulling the TA back. The TA and clutch have about 1500 hours on them. I reviewed the linkage adjustments on the valve and I believe they are set correctly with 1-1/8" stroke and .050" gap when in DD. The fluid is at the proper level and the filters have about 150 hours on them. I have experienced TA's going bad when you pull them back but this scenario is new to me. Any ideas on the subject would be appreciated.

The snap ring on the valve should touch the nut . And if you are shifting it SLOW that maybe somewhat a problem . have you run any pressure test to see what you have there. Is the dump valve seating all the way . Also it could be that the direct drive clutch maybe leaking or plum wore out . May have leaking o/rings on the tubes Need to have someone pressure test it.
