i got on my farmall super a today to drive it up to the front of the yard put it in first gear and had to stop because of an obstruction in the yard let back off the brake and clutch and it started to go but was at high idle, i figured it got stuck in gear so i took off the tranny cover and got the forks back in neutral but when i crank the tractor it still runs at high idle i need help

Terminology is getting in the way of an answer.
High Idle is the speed of the engine when the throttle is open fully, and there is no load on the engine (clutch in, or neutral).
If the tractor moves when the trans is in neutral, and the rails are in that position, there may be a shifter fork broken or bent not actually taking it out of gear. The trans design has no other option, there is no path for power to wheels if the gears are in neutral. Jim

thanks for the advice, come to find out by worrying about the transmission i didn't even look to see if the choke cable came unlose and it did so i adjusted it and behold the farmall cranked up without the high idle, thanks for the help though
