Just given an M and needs new tires and rims, what size rim do i look for for the 13.6 x 38 tires? Im finding multiple widths and not sure which to order....thanks for the help

There are a few diffrent rim withs that will 'work' 10", 11" and 12". the 12" would be the recomended rim size for 13.6's. But the others work too if thats what you have.

Tire most likely calls for a 12x38 on the sidewall but they will fit nicely on an 11x38 too. The 11x38 is more commonly found especially if looking for used rims.

I've got the 13.6x38s on 11" rims. I might be wrong, but I don't think you will find a 12" rim that will fit your original cast centers. I think the 12" rim is available only in the "double bevel" style, and those will not fit.

They do have 12" drop center rims out there. I looked for a long time for used ones and ended up with new ones for my 14.9's. You can even get up to 14" new, pricing is over 300+ though...

12" wide rims can be found used but they wont be off a Farmall; otherwise they need to be bought new. M"s came with 10 or 11" wide rims from factory. Local dealer here just quoted me $256ea for new 12x38 deep drops.

This is just a thought. After reading some other post on here today about the price of tires it may be prudent to be patent and watch for a parts M that may have good tires and rims on it. Might be cheaper than buying the new rims.

This SM has 13.6 tires on 11" rims.Look good, good traction.25 years.just put the tires of your choice on it and be done!it will look and perform well eieher way.new/different rims are NOT nessesary!

yes 12" rims were available with super m's and the early 400's with the drop center rim. i have a couple of tractors with them.

12's would be nice, 11's are ok. I bought a JD A and took off the tires to sell and the rims turned out to be 10's. They looked good, never emagined that there were on 10 inch rims. All 3 will work. I'm in Md and I get 125 to 150 per rim used if its in good shape. If your buying new tires take some drugs before you get prices, you going to need it, they have gone thru the roof. Ed
