got up this am and did my chores, and then decided to put the tractor thru it's paces.. drove around for about an hour all over the farm and neighborhood, 4th gear is nice, no steering shimmy..

figured out I had the ammeter wires swapped side to side, fixed that.. overfilled the rad.. guess you don't fill em to the top of the cap :) so it spit out about an inch and then quit spitting.

adjusted alt belt and tensioner a bit.. it's more happy now.

as I was parking i noticed ahiss beside the valve stem of the fronttire.

as you guys know this one has those

T125 70 D15 car 'maypop' tires on it's front, evidentally being run with tubes, as the valve stems look like tube stems.

I bet it's gonna be fun taking them tires off as the rims don't have centers, so i can't put em in my tire machine...

in any case.. the fronts are dry and i'm sure to tear one taking them off to repair er.. repalce the tubes.

so.. what size tubes for them lil rims, and what size tires you guys running?

thanks

ps.. I take it it isnormal for the first start of the day for the machine to want about half choke for about 30 seconds, then ok with no choke after that.. and subsequent starts once warmed, no choke.. etc?

The book lists 4.00 or 5.00 X 15 sizes as optional for all rims used. I would put the 5.00 on it. Primarily for lower surface compaction, and wet ground flotation. Jim

To get the rim to stand still I have a old disk blade with notch for valve stem. My tire changer works fine this way with rims like yours.

I think that a little choke for a little while is normal as long as it does not need it while warmed up. Do you have new pictures yet.

yep.. no choke once warmed.

here are some updated pics.

remember.. not done yet. still got some details to attend to.

front left hood clip needs adjustment, and still some paint touch ups.. etc.. etc...

i might have an old disc blade laying around.

I think I also have the center I cout out of a ford 16" rim that might help.

might be able to foinagle something...

thanks for the ideas

Just learned something new there! I "wrestled"mine off with 2 tire spoons a few weeks ago and the WHOLE time I could have been using my tire changer !!!! :)

For just a refurbish, it sure looks like a restoration. Looks great. Are those the long axles or are the wheels set in, they make 100inch axles on those, we had one, ended up cutting 6inch off each side, always a pain hitting fence posts and garage doors.

The others have the tires covered.

As far as the choke, yes. The 113/123 motors will flood very quickly, don't need much choke at all.
