small C update

had an hour between jobs today, and beat thedents out of the bottom of the nose metal using a ballpeen hammer and wood block.. got it down to almost nothing. put a skim coat of bondo on, will sand it tomorrow once fully cured.

serviced hyds and front pedistal.

swear that used motor oil came out of both sumps... guess if that's all ya had.. that's what got put in there.

will try to work on the fan and belts and alternator bracket I need to fab up, tomorrow.

( bought a couple cans of paint and primer and a decal set today too! )

just wanted them handy.

I don't know how the weather will hold out here.. but in a few weeks the mechanicals will be done.

if I canget 2 days of 65+ temps that are dry and not windy.. I can shoot her.

I have her parked right in front of my garage.. just open bay door and tools are all within 8', incluidng drain pans and manuals... tables, benches..e tc..

I forgot what year your C is. Two different decals. Up to mid 1949 the hood decals say IH McCormick Deering Farmall, after that they say IH McCormick Farmall, no Deering. If you bought them at Tractor Supply, etc or from a CaseIH dealer, they will all say IH McCormick Farmall, since those were the last used from the factory. Maple Hunter has the best decals, they are correct by year.

early 48.

Our tsc stopped carry decals. not that they were the best quality... but still nice to have around.

I ordered a set of 11 pcs that said to 49.. hope it's right.. oh well.. she won't be a show tractor anyway. I'm not big on parades.. but I AM looking forward to driving her.. she felt nice when I got her..

ps, am I correc tin assuming she should have a small 2x2 chrome IH hood ornament right above the grilling? I see holes and outline for what was probably one.

You are correct on the square IH decal top center of the grille. Should only have one phillips head screw holding it on.

I think the change was in mid-49, and also assume that IH may have used the older decals until they were exhausted, so yours is probably ok either way.
