Do you really want it on LP???

I wouldnt change it back myself.I cant imagine how hard getting all of the original tank, regulator, and all the mounting would be to get????

Unless you found a "donor" parts tractor with this stuff on it.It could get REAL expensive! And even if you do find a good parts tractor, you are gonna have to rebuild the regulator.Have the LP tank checked out for usability(COULD be deteriorated internally???)

THIS could be a REAL expensive project!

I have an H on LP and really like it. It can set for
a year and I don't have to worry about dripping gas
or fuel going bad. I'd think there are parts
tractors out there with tanks on them. Not everybody
wants LP so the parts should be reasonable. I'd
probably put a modern converter on it. Or you can
get parts to re-build the Ensign.

Ive got a 450 and an 806 on LP. LOVE IT! like Cowman said, LP fuel doesnt ever go bad. it can sit for years and be perfectly fine.

keep in mind super M's were the FIRST factory LP Farmall, and i cant imagine there were too many built. You rpobably would have to find a donor tractor for the items you need, but LP stuff is fairly common down south. you've got a fairly odd tractor, keep t that way!

one other thing i thought of was LP burns extremely clean. oil change intervals are further apart, and engine dont get the carbon buildup like gassers do

I have two factory Super M LP's and I like them. The tank you're looking for goes east and west rather than north and south. I don't see many like it and best bet is to look for another as a parts tractor.

It has all the advantages the others have mentioned. I haven't had any trouble with carbs or regulators, but the regulators can become clogged with crud in the water half of it.

Does your still have the cut hood on it?

I can't remember the S/N break but is yours a stage I or II? Mine are both stage II but there was a stage I a guy was trying to sell not too far from here.

Iblock, Put it back on LP! Depending on what modifications have been done to get it on gas will dictate how mus time and trouble it will take.
1st ?, The LP tank, Mounting hrdware, LP System should be available from most any wrecking Yard here in Texas that has a 400/450 in their inventory that hasn't been totally gutted.
Just the other day, about 3 weeks ago I saw a 706 LP at a steel salvage yard N. of Brownwood Tx, 85% complete, Engine was apart, but tank and LP system was complete, 1 week later it was gone, crushed! No! I didn't really need it that is why I didn't ask.
Most of the LP guys on the Boards here can direct you with help and where to look for what you need Hope this helps.

Mike,

LP is a "sweet gas". If air or water has not been allowed to circulate from an open valve, the inside will look factory fresh.

I agree with that Wardner.

As long as the tank has been "sealed up"with a good working valve that has remained shut.

I used to work for an LP company for a few years. I am just saying a tank that has been sitting on a parts tractor outside for like some 40+ years one might take some caution to the condition of the tank.If the valve was ever left open for a good amount of time, the cylinder could be in bad shape on the inside. At the very least it could be contaminated,if not rusted badly.I have seen 50 year old lp cylinders that were in great shape and taken care of,and some that were aout 10-15 years that were totally unusable due to the lack of care and abuse done to them.(You ever seen some of the cylinders some of the hot tar roofing companys have??? OMG !!!

Well thanks for the advice men.Talked to the boss and she approved me to make "Ol Girl" back the way she came.So it looks like we are goin factory!I went to the local IH dealer today just because I was passing it they came up with some hoses and regulator rebuild parts, all I walked away with was a Farmall hat .lol
Called Cliff bout the tank he is very nice and a joy to talk to but his tank is the North South tank.I need the East West tank and regulator carb ect.My tractor has the original manifold and correct pistons,so...good there pretty much need the rest of it.
If you guys know of a parts tractor sitting or come across one please let me know. Can not wait to start this project and will keep pics and question coming for sure. Thanks again this site and u guys are the best!!!

THANK YOU

I belive mine is a stage one with M&W live hyd added uses belly pump as res tank. Whats your serial ?Can u get me the # of that guy? lol
Thanks

Off the top of my head I think they are 48k or 49k and change. The two are actually 120 numbers apart. That much I remember.

I'll look and see if that one is still over there. He was wanting something like 2500, a bit much to turn into a parts tractor! I did have fairly new rubber though.

Give steel wheel ranch a call and see if they have anything like that. The shipping would be significant on a tank, but you only need one.

Found a hood factory cut one more part off the list. And he said he will get me pics of the one he has ,sweet.his has battery under seat though mine under tank.cant wait to see it Thanks Tractor Vin
