Identifying linkage on 460

What is this linkage on the left side of the hydraulic valves on my 460 gas?

I bumped it a couple months ago and discovered that the unused steel lines that ran under my seat were rusted out. I replaced those steel line with hoses and ran the hoses long so i can plug them right into the cylinder for the fast hitch when I put it on.

When I put it all back together everything seemed to run well except that there is a slight whine in the hydraulics if this linkage is in the wrong position. The whine also goes away if I actuate the other hydraulic circuits that run my loader.

What does this linkage do? what position does it need to be in when I put the fast hitch on?

I would like credit for figuring out how to attach a pic.... if i ended up attaching it 3 times.... i think that just means I'm a triple threat

It is the tele-depth linkage that controls the fast hitch up-down/ position of the hitch/ drawbar. Something doesn't look quite right in the picture, but that is probably because the hitch isn't mounted yet. Wait for a picture or look in the operators manual to see how it should be hooked up. You can screw up the small gears in the hyd box if you get the linkage backwards.BTDT

Are there different kinds of fast hitches for the same tractor? The fast hitch I have came off a 460 that didn"t have any of this linkage. My buddies 560 also doesn"t have this linkage.

When you say , when I put the fast hitch on do you mean it does not have the fast hitch on it now or do you mean when you move the lever to operate fast hitch. All 460's came with teledepth if they had the fast hitch. Many had hitchs put on later with out teledepth. Many have thrown away the teledepth valve and went with the regular aux valve to operate hitch. Your linkage is not hooked up therefore is in limbo. When all hooked up correctly the linkage self centers the valve thus the name teledepth. In reality it is a follow up linkage. Valve linkage follows hitch movement. If you need to keep using tractor like it is , lock that link so it cannot move and then find true neutral where hydraulic system is on low pressure by moveing lever and then leave it alone.

This tractor didn't come with a fast hitch. The valve was there. So I bought a fast hitch and I am going to put it on. Will my fast hitch work withouth this linkage? The linkage didn't come with the fast hitch and the guy I bought it from has since parted/ junked the tractor it came from.

It would not work well without this linkage. It looks like you have the main part as the valve is the important part. I would try to find the remaining linkage at some salvage yard. Look at a tractor with the rod style likage installed for reference, (early models had cable you don't want that). Other wise the decent way to make a good hitch system is to replace that teledepth valve with a regular valve like the other valves, which is not a two minute job though.
