Confirmation of adjustments on H carb

I adjusted the carburetor on the H today after putting in new points and condenser.

It appears to me that the screw in the end of the carb is the idle mixture, the bottom is the power mixture and the side is the idle speed. Can someone confirm?

Thanks Rusty,

I experimented with them and glad to know my experiment is
correct. It was running rich, but I think the bad points may have
been contributing to that need to run rich. It

Factory initial setting is 1 1/2 turns out on the idle mix screw, and 3 turns out on the load screw. The load screw does not need to be adjusted while setting the idle, in fact, there really is no need to even adjust that screw after the initial 3 turns out.

I will check the load screw.

It does not hesitate, nor load up when I open the throttle. It is
running a lot stronger with the new points. I think it needed the
richer mixture with the weaker spark.
