560 rich idle problem

Bringing a 560 farmall back to life, after about ten years outside. Cleaned out fuel tank and overhauled the carb. Runs too rich at idle, not terrible, but noticable. Runs best with idle needle fully closed. Soaked carb for a week, blew everything out good...had it apart 2-3 times with no luck. Otherwise, it runs great, and responds to throttle well. Heat riser is working, and it will idle smoothly, and very slow...just rich.
It still has the earky double venturi, and it was stuck so tightly I was unable to remove it. Anything I needed to clean behind it?

If the needle is all the way in, the float level may be too high. The passage is clear but still getting too much fuel is an indication it is getting it from somewhere else. Jim

What size is the idle jet , some guys like to get
their drills out and make them larger in an attempt
to get rid of the coughs. It should be like a number
72 or 75 which is only about .022 of an inch hole.

Pretty sure someone has been at this jet, as .035 mig wire passes through easily. New jet was $28! but that doesn't buy much gas either.
When it gets here, and I get it installed, I'll let you know.
