400 power steering

I'm wondering if the hydraulic system on a Farmall 400 will handle a Char-Lynn power steering motor. I currently have a Behlen system installed and am wondering whether to repair the leaks or change to a Char-Lynn. Thanks

Im working on a behlen system on a 400 now and don't have a leak problem, but can only get it to work when I push one of the lift levers forward or back. I've had it all apart, but I've found nothing so far. Does your system "work" other than the leaks?

Yours needs a priority valve (or a left hand (location in the block)system valve from a 400 with PS) from the factory and other related parts. Jim

concerning biggred's problem. I think it's possible to install the priority valve backwords. You might want to check that. My tractor's valve is held in place by a circlip, not a threaded plug. I guess I'll see if I can find the correct seal to fix my leak around the output shaft. If I can't I'll look for a char-lyn unit. They work better too. Thanks guys
