I found out that my PTO clutch is slipping under heavy load the other day - How does one adjust that?

the forage harvester will pull the tractor down in a heavier spot, but just before a plug the PTO will slip rather thatn than pull the tractor down further.

On the left side of the tractor below the valve for the PTO there is a plug to take out to put a gage in. Then you turn the stem to the valve in or out to adjust the pressure on the clutch. It should be around 150-230 Psi I think. One at one engine speed and the other at PTO speed on your tach.

ya need the special fitting to go into the test port and a gauge that will read 600 lbs. pressure ya set the pressure by turning the valve stem into the nut on top . ya want around 240-250 for a good lock up . Now if she has slipped then it would be in you best interest to R & R the PTO clutch pac with a new HD clutch pac.
