Bad 856 hydraulics

The hydraulics on my 856 have been acting up and I was wondering what could be wrong. It has a loader and to get the loader to raise the motor needs to be at least half speed for it to even creep up. the steering and hitch work at idle but the loader doesnt. What should I look for? I hope this isnt too hard of a fix. Thanks.

Ok lets start off with this , First off the steering works of the MCV pump and has nothing to do with hitch or remotes. as for the hitch coming up what about with a load on it . Just lifting the arms does not take much. If you have to run the engine up to lift let check the easy and cheap stuff first, If you are running the loader off the remotes then replace the pioneer ends on the hoses first . If this is not help then ya need to have a flow rate done on the pump and see what that tells ya . Also change the hyd . filter and replace the gasket and clean the screen and look for a strange pieces and shinny metal flakes in the oil. It maybe pump time as it seams this is the year for pumps i have to put two in myself. one in the 706 and one in the 806 and also as of this afternoon a water pump on the 806. Fun Fun Fun.

how much of a job is the pump replacement? What has to be removed to replace the pump? I will check in to those other things.

The hitch pump is located just in front of the left rear axle, opposite the hydraulic filter. It is mounted to the inside of that cover and comes out with the cover to remove it.

If the hitch works OK with a load on it the pump is probably still good. If not it is either the pump or a leak. Make sure the hitch position control lever is not all the way forward in the offset in the slot. That position will slow down the hydraulics.

Takes 'bout an hour if you really "take your time". :>)

Seriously, not much of a job at all. Hardest part is draining and refilling all that oil.
