OK guys here's a full update for you on what's been done.

1. cleaned couple times.
2. electrical, replaced light & key switch (everything works) and plan to replace wiring harness and battery leads, spark plugs, wires etc.
3. Misc mechanical... brake work, replaced seals, etc.
4. new hyd hoses... 2pt and remote.
5. all new emblems, seat, steering wheel
6. gauges are good, replaced one that was bad.
7. reset valves

regarding painting process..
-cleaned tractor repeatedly.
-removed all sheet metal and fenders as they are at my painters shop getting stripped and "worked" on.

-removing all wiring & guages prior to painting.
-wheels to be removed from tractor prior to painting also.

So far so good... LOTS of time on this but it's coming along well.

Seems like we keep finding more, but in the end it will be worth it.

Hi Colby64, looking good, Yes, there seems to be no end when you are trying to do your best.
Make sure you T.A. engine clutch, rear seals are good.So you dont need to split after painting.
I am in middle of a 560 resto myself and the repairs and preps keep coming at me.However, mine has been sitting 15 yrs, so all was pretty dry and rusty.
Good Luck, Tony

yes you are SO right..... everything else is in great shape, all working order, no issues. :)

Best part is this tractor has been used on the farm for ever and it does show that too, well maintaned.

Dad and I were planning to restore this, but he passed away in July 10 and now it's on me to do it right. Hard to not do it 100% if you know what I mean.

Going to bring it to RPRU next yr, oh wait and to my wedding Sept 24th this yr! :)

Oh and how AWESOME is this my soon to be father in-law has matching plow for it! That will be next yrs project though.

Just a couple things. Go over the adjustment on the t/a as it says in
the manual. And adjust the clutch.

thanks Pat.... is that online anywhere or do I need to get service manual?

Remove the rear rims before painting and leave the cast centers on. That way you don't have to mess with moving them and turning them over, etc. Move the centers to the end of the axles, that will give a lot of room. The axles were not painted at the factory. I wrap tape around mine.

yep i plan to remove the rim and dismount the tires and get them sand blasted & powder coated. Good idea to move the cast centers out. thx

Fuel lines, connections and sediment bowl---make sure you have no leaks. Today's gas eats paint
very quickly. To be safe keep can/bowl under any suspect fittings.

Colby64,wondering if you would give me measurement of exhaust pipe piece that is threaded to exhaust manifold and goes up through hood to muffler.
Mine was home made and new manifold did not come with pipe piece. Gas engine.
Appreciate it, Thanks, Tony
